Lantern’s sometimes in the national news thanks to the amazing John Lowe, “Britain’s oldest ballet dancer”, who began his ballet training with Helen. See him in action in “An Artist’s Life”, the ballet that Helen (pictured right) created in 2009 for his 90th birthday. There’s a recent article about John at this link:

WORKSHOPS WITH STOPGAP DANCE COMPANY We were commissioned by the Isle of Ely Arts Festival to produce one of the three Highlights of the 2014 festival: the first performance of a new dance work made in collaboration with Stopgap Dance Co. Stopgap is a professional integrated dance company who say of themselves “We are able to create work that is exceptional only because we are integrated. Difference is our means and our method”. They create and tour new work nationally and internationally and were recently selected to be part of the Royal Opera House’s “ROH Links” programme.    More >>

U.DANCE EAST 2016 Lantern took part in this flagship event for youth dance in the East of England on 14th February 2016 - a day of workshops at the Jerwood Dance House, Dance East’s base in Ipswich, and a performance in their 400 seat theatre. We  performed “Tall Tales and Short Stories”, the new work made for us in 2015 by Siobhan Hayes of Stopgap Dance Company. It was a really good day for our dancers and a good day for integrated dance.

Fenland Suite  - a programme of short works inspired by local history and landscape. The bill  included Aqua & Terra, Cocoon, Weaving, ENIGMA and Clear Space, the new work made in our workshop with Stopgap Dance. Featuring work by locally connected artists Marcus Barcham-Stevens (music for cocoon and weaving) and Zoe Chamberlain (installation). First performed at The Paradise Centre, Newnham Street, Ely CB7 4PQ.  More>>
